In an effort to create better transparency between artist and client, comic book illustrator Drew Edward Johnson will post commissioned artwork in progress, along with his current commission list. This way the client can check in at any point to see where they're at on Drew's commission list, and get a first hand look as each individual commission is created. Postings will occur several times during Drew's work day, so check back often to get a look over the artist's shoulder.

Wow! That is stunning! Can't wait to see the "other half"! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll post some of the work on the second figure in a few hours---Stay tuned:)
DeleteCAT o' nine tails, I get it!. I see you went with the version of Cheetah from your unpublished Wonder Woman book. good call, more sexy and I think all the black strapping on her lithe frame creates a great look. This piece is going to rock!
ReplyDeleteYeh! I had so much fun drawing that version of the Cheetah, that I wanted to go with her again. I figured you'd know what I was doing:) Plus I think her look works better in the context of this piece. Glad you're liking it so far!
DeleteYeah I like this version of Cheetah, it's visually more interesting and makes her look more of a threat. Can't wait to see the rest!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ken! I don't know if you've seen the unpublished Wonder Woman book I drew a couple of years ago---If not, please drop by my gallery at www.drewedwardjohnson.deviantart.com, if you like to. That book was just a knock down drag out fight between WW and The Cheetah, and I wanted to take as aggressive an approach to Cheetah as possible in my design for her for that book---I still like that look, and carried it over to this piece.
